Description: The committee monitors government activity and other public policy issues affecting the South Kent business community on behalf of Chamber membership and communicates relevant developments to the membership. The committee serves as a relationship type of liaison between the business members of the Chamber and government officials on the local, state and federal levels. The committee represents small business and the voice of small business.
Planned Project/Committee Goals:
- Hold 11 monthly committee meetings to monitor and discuss relevant issues.
- Hold 11 monthly meetings with elected and staff officials to listen and give a voice for the business community.
- Conduct candidate forums prior to the election.
The Government Matters committee organizes monthly meetings with our elected officials, an annual Government Luncheon, and provides government advocacy for our members through the Board of Directors.
The Monthly Meetings with our elected officials are held on the Second Monday at 8am.
